3D printing

I got into 3D printers a long time ago. I learnt the ins and outs of them, modding mine in the process. I also learnt to use various CAD programs. Nowadays I don’t have the passion I used to for them, but I’m still left with an incredibly useful machine and the skillset to use it.

Me and my family have tons of 3D printed doohickeys I made to solve our very specific situational problems. I initially got the printer to build my maker projects, but it’s now almost exclusively used to print random doodads for us. And it’s almost taken for granted now, were’re really used to being able to make specific solutions for specipic problems. It’s turned from a novelty into a get-stuff-done machine, and while that removes the excitement for it, it gives it a really important purpose.
